How Important is the ABS Heat Shield?

How important is the ABS heat shield if i still have the stock DP. Other words how hard should i look to find it in my garage? Just wondering cause i havn;t driven my 7 in about a month and i'm get anxious(sp?)

Put it on there. Not a good idea to mess with the system that could one day save your life.

Mazda went through a lot of trouble to save weight on the RX-7. If they put it there, it's probably important.

It's pretty important, the heat can find its way around the shield but atleast it won't be direct heat hitting the lines and the unit. It will heat up your brake fluid.

The ABS hydraulic unit is one the most expensive single pieces to replace on the car. Put the heat shield on...

i took mine off when I put on my downpipe and completely forgot to put it back on until I stumbled upon it a couple months later in the garage. It's back on.
