Eh... I just can't see it that way. Age shouldn't be the determinant regard who is able to drive by themselves on the roads. Experience and ability are much more vital. I personally know of quite a few young kids between 12-15 that drive MUCH better than 90% of the GOOD drivers that I know. Granted they also have track experience but the ponit is that they already have the ability and experience without the legal age. I don't care if you're 45, if you can't do EVERYTHING I posted then I don't feel you should be allowed to operate a vehicle without another licensed driver that CAN do all of it.

If the driver is aware of his immediate vacinity like he should be, he'll know to first, attempt to create a saftey buffer between him and the car following behind and whether thats possible or not he'll second, have enough information about the car behind him in his head already to take that vehicle into consideration when breaking. That affords him the opportunity to steer left or right ahead of time as if he were dodging an obstacle or if there was more space remaining in front of him than necessary to stop, then to continue to roll forward in an attempt to provide the other vehicle more stopping distance.

After thinking on satoacs's statement, I remember that alot of that was actually covered in my driver's school! Maybe I was the only one paying attention. Hmm... At any rate this is stuff I do all the time when I'm driving and I don't feel that it should be considered advance techniques. This should be the basic stuff. There are much more advanced things to be concerned with when driving in adverse conditions then any of the things I've mentioned. Those are the advanced techniques, not whats listed here.

You think THIS thread is rediculous? I take it you haven't ever read the anti-det aka butt plug device thread, or any of the Jimlab WWIII threads?

I forgot to mention the #1 reason I don't drive the FD in the rain .

It gets dirty. I think most of us like to keep the FD pretty clean, and looking good. Driving in the rain instantly removes all that effort that has been put into making it look nice. Thats my reason for not driving in the rain.

Ok, useful discussion is done. There are plenty of other rain threads around if someone really feels the need to read more about the subject.
