How does the heater coolant hose fitting hook up?

This is on the driver's side by the oil filter.

I had that plastic male(?) part pulled off so I can put a coating on it.

The part is a little over 2.5" long.

It's held to the engine core by a clip and has 2 identical rubber o-rings and 2 different washers.

Does some one have a diagram or pics on how this goes back together?

I just replaced all of the hoses for the heater and radiator, including the quick disconnect. I did this with the engine in the car and that damn quick disconnect was anything but quick. I ended up using a fine-tooth modeling saw to cut portions away until it finally came apart. Took about 1/2 an hour working from under the car. However, the new quick disconnect plugged right on without any issue. I was afraid not to replace since its made of plastic.

You need a tool to remove the quick disconnect. It looks something similar to the fuel line disconnect tool. My hose was leaking at the quick connect joint and I tried to repair the hose. In the process of trying to tighten down on the hose (replaced the cheap clamp with a hose clamp) the disconnect literally obliterated. I'd get rid of the disconnect, just another source for coolant leak

I couldn't figure out how the hell to get it back on so I just left it off. I put the hose on the metal pipe and used two clamps, one on each side of the raised ring. It hasn't leaked yet.

Interesting.

I didn't even know that it was a "quick" disconnect.

So just 2 clamps is suffice?
