How do you know if your engine is ported?

how do you know if the engine is ported? what symptoms should it have?

you could try removing the manifold to block ate and feeling down the ports as long as you know what your looking for you can tell

There is no way to know for sure without looking at the ports. Vacuum readings can be an indication, but there are a lot of factors which can influence the vacuum reading which makes it not ideal for porting determination.

what about engine behavour? other then a bit low vacuum

The stock engine I heard the other day sounded like this.

brpbrpbrpbrpbrpbrpbrp at idle.

My large street port sounds like this
brrrappbrrrrappbrrrappbrrrrappbrrrappbrrrrapp

When I press on the gas pedal it goes
brrbrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaap SSHHHHH.
Before I changed to the Synapse BOV it sounded like this:
brrbrrbrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaap PsshhPsshh

deffinately sound, i have a large streetport, and it sounds like a helicopter is coming in for a landing if your standing a ways away from it.
