How do I get 300HP or a little above (reliable too)

I have a 93 stock and i want to end up around 300rwhp
111,000 miles all stock runs good, has full boost. i know i have some work before the
upgrades like radiator and the vacume lines and some outhers i cant think of right now.
point is w/ that milage and stock twins. is it realistic without spending crazy amount of money. its not a race car its for my enjoyment.

just want to get insight form people who know. and that have done it. because i can sit here and wright up a list of parts and spend more cash than i need to, and just to find out the hard way it cant handle it. so what ever insight you have will be appreciated. thank you Shaun G

one outher thing can 300hp on a 3rd gen beat the hell out of my friends 350Z vortech supercharged dont know whats got for hp but its a lazyman electronic shifter in it.

I would goto this site...

I continue to find my question answered by info on this site....

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/index.html

goto upgrades/mods

then upgrade plans and stages....you should do the reliability mods first before working on the horsepower. However, some of the reliability mods will help also in that department...like placing a downpipe in...

on that site you could go after the performance/reliability section...add up the bill and see if you can afford it...

Firs off, a bigger better picture of your avatar would be the best mod.

Then makes sure your cooling system is up to snuff. Hoses, aftermarket rad, etc.

Then buy a great ECU and have it tuned conservatively.

There are many other reliability mods to do, so you may have some reading to do.

Thats about what I have. Probably around 4k for me to get there. Some of it went to reliability mods. Radiator, gauges, AST etc.

Thats 300 RWHP, not engine HP.

Mods in Sig.

Check this out for an inexpensive intake that will pass smog:

Check out ebay for....

intake pipes ~ $30 (filters are $25 each from K&N i believe)
downpipe, midpipe - ~ $100
catback ~$100
MBC ~ $15

Then pickup a Pettit or M2 ecu. 300rwhp for under a grand. Spend the rest on reliability mods and you're set.

Bam...Thats it. Your car will now run well into the 200,xxxmi range. Good Job.

But seriously, you need to make sure you cooling system is bullet proof. I would recommend and aftermarket radiator and redo all hose.

I love the PFC and highly recommend that. Have someone who knows what their doing tune it conservatively after you complete all your upgrades. Or read and learn how to tune your self. I myself am still learning and taking baby steps.

Hunt down any vacuum problems and replace all hose. Some people remove the "rats nest" and simplify things.

There are many others and I am forgeting some.

My mods are listed below and I am not sure what my RWHP is. I am thiniking I am around 400. I need a dyno maybe to pull some fuel out for more HP. I have 10.5 A/F at full boost.

P.S. Make sure your fuel system is bullet proof too.

be careful with that ebay crap. most of that **** doesn't fit well. the intake pipes for example with k&n filters have no provision for the airpump which will make noise like a **** if you let it vent to atmosphere.

as for running a midpipe - it is unadvisable w/o a boost controller and a better ecu like the power fc

read the newbie stickies. all the relevant info you need is there and on here when clicking the search button.

300 RWHP? You will definantly need an ECU, like the POWER FC and an upgraded fuel pump

Intake, downpipe hi-flow or midpipe, and catback should put you over 300 WHP

Even a PFS purple box will be just fine for 300rwhp. A lot cheaper than PFC and much better than pre-tuned chips.

You may not need to upgrade fuel to get 300 RWHP. It's close. I recorded 298 on a dynojet last year on stock motor, stock fuel system and conservative A/F. I run both cats (both are high-flow)

I'd recommend a PFC over a chip, because it's more tunable.
Upgraded I/C, Intake, and some exhaust upgrades (maybe just a downpipe).
the last ingredient is a good tuning, from someone that knows their stuff.

You got 111,000 miles on the stock engine. If that's the case I wouldn't push it any more than it has to. Wait till the engine gives and then once a rebuild is done then start thinking about horsepower. By the way those are some nice junks in the trunks....

Lopedl,

It is a newer corvette that she is posing in front of. By her right hand you can see the tailight.

I would love to sit here and tell who it is, but alas I don't know.

Do all of ur experimenting on that engine............... it's about to have a seal leak.

BTW, I have lost more engines to boost creep than anything else.

Port that wastegate!!!

It's scary to see ur boost go from stock (10psi) to a 15psi creep in 4th gear at WOT.
