I'm planning on buying a reman from Malloy's soon and was wondering what were the proper break ins I should know of?

Put oil in, start the car and let it idle for roughly 3 minutes and then turn it off and drain the oil.

Put more (new) oil in and drive for 500 miles while keeping the RPMs below 4k. Change oil

Drive for 1000 miles keeping RPM below 5k. Change Oil.

That should do it.

here are some threads I dug up. They deal mostly with rebuilds rather than remans, but the same principles should still apply:

Most definatly. It may be a little much, but better safe than sorry I'd say.

No, oil is oil. If you have to premix with valvoline, you'll have to premix with royal purple.
