Question How do I break in a new engine?

I'm planning on buying a reman from Malloy's soon and was wondering what were the proper break ins I should know of?

Put oil in, start the car and let it idle for roughly 3 minutes and then turn it off and drain the oil.

Put more (new) oil in and drive for 500 miles while keeping the RPMs below 4k. Change oil

Drive for 1000 miles keeping RPM below 5k. Change Oil.

That should do it.

Seriously now. Can royal purple be run on 7's w/ out a premix??? I want to put the best oil in my baby that I can give her, no alternatives.

No, oil is oil. If you have to premix with valvoline, you'll have to premix with royal purple.
