Anyone know how to disable 3k Cold Start? Did a search but I do not have the Power FC to eliminate it. My neighbors are bitching like crazy. Please help!

...or blip the throttle when the engine starts. RPMs should lower to about 1500. BTW, what's the real reason your neighbors are bitching? Got a full straight through exhaust?

Remove or disable the AWS. Remove the hose going from the back of the intake elbow to the AWS solenoid (solenoid end is hard pipe) and cap both ends, OR, for aftermarket ECU you can disconnect the solenoid electrical connector, OR, pull the UIM and remove the solenoid and install a blocking plate.

I just put it in gear when i start up the car, or once started, tap the gas and it goes down.

Does anybody here read the frigging owner's manual? Just start the car in gear. Who starts a car in neutral anyway?

LOL yeah, why not start it in neutral?

not like you're gonna leave as soon as the car is started, you have to sit there for a minute or so..

but yeah, i start mine in first to disable it..

Thanks for everybody's reply. Yes, I am running a full exhaust. I also know that start the car in 1st gear will disable it. Sorry for the confusion, I have an auto start alarm. So chances are, I will not be inside the car when the car starts.

disable the AWS, though maybe check to see if this will put the ecu in limp home mode.

i understand its to heat up the oxygen sensor. but other then running rich on a cold startup, would it hurt not running to 3000rpm on startup? do you guys recomend letting the factory ecu do its thing or should it be bypassed by putting it in 1st gear on startup?

The AWS was only there to heat up the pre-cat. It is bad on the motor bearings to rev the engine to 3k immediately at start up. There are absolutely ZERO negative effects to not using the AWS system, at least in my experience.

BTW, NONE of the PFC or other standalone ecu systems use the AWS.
