when I DID have A/C, it would get cool inside the car, but never COLD(My daily driver Jeep Cherokee gets condensation on the windows).

Probably has something to do with the engine being so hot that it heats up the car, causing the A/C to not work effeciently.

No its the size of the A/C put in the rx7's. It really wasnt a primary goal for the engineers to have a kick *** A/C. My dad's an A/C technician and was making fun of my car's A/C. But hey any little thing helps. I believe its the condensor size and fan speed that play a role in that.

Are you sure it isn't too full?

I just had my AC charged up earlier this week too, and once the car runs for awhile, the AC compressor starts to cycle on and off rapidly. Once this starts, the air starts getting warmer in the car, and the RPM's start going up and down as the compressor cycles.

I took it back to them just now, and they think they got the system too full, and the high pressure switch is shutting down the system. I will know for sure later this afternnon what the problem is.

Well all you can really do with out doing something custom(like fitting a larger condensor) just roll down the windows. I got a black car with black interior in TEXAS in summer now. Ive been stuck in traffic on 100 degree days. I just roll down the windows, works for me. I really only use the A/C on highways.

Maxboostrx7, something is wrong with your A/C system. I have a black interior and once the car is moving it'll cool the interior even on a 100 degree day. I have one of those A/C thermometers and the air blowing out the vents is in the 40's. Have an A/C specialist look at it.

Iam not sure if that was directed to me. I never said it didnt cool down while moving. I was saying that it doesnt get so hot its unbareable to me. My A/C works fine.

No, I wasn't directing it towards you. I was responding to Maxboostrx7's first post. I'll edit and make my previous comment clearer.

They're right; they overcharged it. Maybe they can't read the numbers on the gauges very well.

Wait, the FD has A/C?

Actually, I never use mine. I've had the car over 4 years and only had the A/C charge up once (when I started dating the girl who is now my wife).

She used to complain at first about not using the A/C. When I did get it charge, it cooled the car quite a bit. After you run the A/C a little bit, switch it to recirculation mode. If you are in stop and go traffic, I doubt it will ever get "cold", but it should be cooler than having the windows down...

Well, I just got the car back. They took all of the R-12 out and refilled the system using the visual method (looking through the sight glass). He said that they put the same amount back in! AND, my problem still exists. He said that the condenser isn't getting enough air through it. High side pressures are as much as 400 psi!!!! He said he sprayed the condenser with a hose and the pressures came right down. Looks like I need to check out the fins on the condenser and radiator (directly behind it) and make sure I am getting some air through there in stop-go traffic. Or, maybe my condenser got plugged up? Anybody ever hear of that happening?

It just seems like this system is touchy. I have just never had any AC problems with with other cars. I guess thats the price you pay for having the best looking car in town.

THESE CARS HAVE A/C?! I thought that those dials were the interior convection oven controls.

When mine worked, it was pretty cold, but those vents pump out so little volume that its hard to keep the car really cool. Nothing can touch my mom's Camry. I'm still amazing how quickly that baby gets ice cold.

If you need A/C you're a pu$$y!!! j/k
My A/C was cold enough before I yanked it out.
I only used it for windows when it was raining or when the b*tches would bitch because it was 100 outside and I was driving around without it.

Suck out the freon and put in propane....it'll cool really really well, but you're liable to blow your *** up, and its not my fault if you do.

I agree, I run the fans on 1 or 2 on recirculation mode and it gets cold in my FD.
