Exclamation Hose connected to the Elbow/greddy elbow help

Hey guys, I know it's a newb question but what is the hose clamped onto the elbow for, and what do I need to do with it when replacing the stock with the greddy. Thanks.

It's for the Accelerated Warmup System. Usually by the time people have a greddy elbow they're already deleted the both the AWS solenoid and pipe, located under the Upper Intake Manifold. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to do it the ghetto way----plug the hose with a huge bolt.

The AWS is what revs your engine to a higher rpm (3k?) when you start it cold to warm up the motor quicker. Not recommended, as it introduces unnecessary wear to a cold engine.

Ah, I know what you're talking about. I still have it, and I always tap the pedal when it tries to do it, so it will shut off. Thanks for the fast reply, sir.

No problem. You can also start the car in gear to defeat the AWS altogether so that it doesnt rev up at all.
