Hold on to your headlights!
Hey just a quick reminder...
Check your headlight cover screws (including the two nearest the engine)! I went and checked mine just for the heck of it and found that 2 out of 4 facing the engine were so loose that I could turn them by hand. My light covers were just moments away from potentially flying off!
Regards,
Brian

hahaha mides well check for cracking down by the screws 2 on my 1st 94 i was racing doing 140+ and both my covers flew off.. i fount the culprit was the craked and brittle plastic near the screw holes. not due to overtightening (which you may want to watch for) but due to heat and time..... Just an FYI.

Rich,
Yup, one of mine was cracking I noticed... I wonder if I could repair it in some way? I really don't want to have to buy a new one and get it painted to match....

Here we go. Product name is Devcon Plasticwelder - just like epoxy i suppose. Available at Walmart, in the paint section next to all the epoxy, etc. My local 'mart is crappy about keeping these in stock, so I keep a couple new packages handy at all times.
Try to keep the platic welder as smooth as possible when applying. See how its (sorta hehe) rounded as it transitions from the vertical to horizontal planes. If you have sharp angles in the plastic weld, stress might be directed along these sharp corners, and it may fail again at that point.
May be good to give it a few minutes to firm up before working with, to keep the mess down, hehe. WEAR SURGEONS/PAINT GLOVES - THRUST ME ON THIS!
Notice I drilled holes into the plastic. This is to give the plastic welder better grip. Becareful when drilling though, as that if yours are cracked as badly as mine were, you could break it completely off.
I choose not to do a smooth buildup on this side like the other, because this is the side that the headlight housing rests against, and was not sure if putting any plastic welder on this side might interfere. You can probably put a tiny bit along the edge all the way across, but its very strong now as it is - and trying to remove the plastic welder after it dries would be a PITA!
Hope this helps!

what do you mean by sleak cover? do you mean a sleak headlight kit or just the normal stock plastic headlight cover? if you need a sleak headlight kit then you gotta get one from the company that made your headlight kit.
