Hold Light Flashing on Petit ECU

I got a Petit ECU and when I start the car the hold light flashes but it does not flash with my stock ECU. I read some posts that this is a mazda bulliten to replace ECU and also doing the KOKO procedure but the KOKO does not solve the issue. Car runs fine but could the Petit ECU be trash?

Sounds like you are trying to use a manual trans ECU. What is the number on it?

Your exactly right. Well it don't matter now. I broke one of the Hold wires in the stick while taking it out. Now no more Hold for a while. I don't see how the hell you take out the stick....

The manual trans ECU will not allow the trans to shift properly, it does not have the outputs to control the automatic trans.

We developed a harness to allow installation of any manual trans ECU into the automatic, including the chipped ones (Pettit, M2, etc) Banzai Automatic ECU Adapter (93-95 RX-7)

WOW.... I will have to think about that. That is a pricey little harness. I plan on going V-8 in a couple years so I might just leave the hold light disconnected.

It is not just the hold feature, your car can't shift properly without the auto ECU installed to control the trans

Is that true? I was driving with the Petit ECU for about a week and really never noticed any difference in shifting between the stock ECU and Petit one.....

Of course it is true, that is why your hold light was flashing.

Can you use the 'hold' feature?

I know for a fact that it does not function correctly, that is why I developed the harness in the first place. What I am not going to do is argue with someone that clearly does not have a clue how the auto trans functions and can't comprehend why there is a difference between manual and auto ECUs.

Good luck with your v8 swap.

that is fine. I am not arguing either, I am just reporting the facts of what I am experiencing. I am sure you know what you are talking about, I don't doubt that.
