hoist hook locations

I'm finally to the point where I can actually start pulling the engine, but I can't figure out where to hook up the chain. The first one by the pressure tank is obvious but where is the second one? I looked everywhere by the abs unit but can't find it.

it should be on the firewall side of the upper intake manifold.

its where the ground wire bolt to it on the backside of the manifold close to where the uim bolts to the LIM. if you cant see it immediatly you have probably removed or unbolted it as it looks like a big metal loop just like the front one.

oh boy... The car didn't have one when I got it. I certainly did not remove it. Any suggestions getting it out or just purchase one from the stealer-ship?

Get some large washers from some place like Home Depot. Put a chain link from the hoist on one of the LIM studs, then a washer, then a bolt.

you can make one pretty easy if you have a drill plus some scrap metal a piece of 1/4" aluminum will work just fine just bolt it on there. just dont try to get creative and bolt the chain right to that spot as you may strip out the bolt holes and drop a motor which is not good.

The removal of my engine was suprisingly easy...

Just take your time and do your research (as your doing now).
