HKS oil cooler kit or something else?

Im about to drop 1300 bucks on the hks oil cooler kit and I'm just wondering if its worth it or should i buy something else? If anybody has them I would like to know how good they are or if someone is running another kit chime in...

Go with the Sakebomb kit, it's pretty badass and comes with everything you need.

I do not see where HKS currently makes an oil cooler kit for the FD.

Here is a shopping list to make your own dual oil cooler kit as long as you have the tools to make a few mounting brackets and cut the hoses to length.

HKS makes an oil cooler for the fd. i had it in the past and its a very nice kit.

In my car now i have the Greddy twin cooler kit with the thermostat.

Both are great but overpriced due to the brand

rotorsports racing offers a nice kit and so does sakebomb garage.

Banzai racing, seems like a great deal. Havent used their kit but Banzai is a great company in my book.

To clarify......We do not actually sell a kit or any of the components, we simply put together a list of components that come in a standard 19 row dual oil cooler setup so that people could buy them for themselves and save $400-$500

The only HKS oil cooler kit I see listed is for a 350Z http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=2945

Will the Banzai specified kit fit behind the stock bumper?

Is the R1 kit not adequate?

I sold a HKS oil cooler kit about a year ago, the ducts are pretty well made and so are the oil coolers like all HKS items. Now the HKS oil coolers are only 15 rows, so I don't know if that is enough for you. Do they justify the price new? No. I believe I sold the used set for 7 or 800 which seems a bit more fitting. Every week or two I see a nice set of oil coolers available for much less than you are looking to spend, if you want we could work something out and I could import you a set, not sure what your time frame is though.

For reference, here is a pic of the hks oil coolers I imported, they are still in production in Japan FYI.

Depends on your application. R1 coolers are adequate for the street and autocross. For road racing, I'm on the edge of the twin R1 coolers' capabilities. As a go faster on track, it becomes more apparent to me that the Sakebomb oil cooler kit is in my future

The SakeBomb kit will fit fine. They make the brackets with a bit of wiggle room so you can adjust as needed for proper fitment.

Here's a pic of mine installed so you can get an idea of the size and fit. Obviously you'd need to make your own ducting, if you feel the need.

I got the track kit and the nylon braded lines.

I don't remember exactly how much it cost me since I got mine during a group buy. I think it was right around $1,200 though.

well its close in price to the hks kit. maybe save 1 or 2 hundred bucks. seems to me that u get bigger coolers with sakebomb garage then hks ones. Although hks does come with ducts and stuff. my car is gonna be doing some time attack so its gotta stay cool...

Yeah, 25-row is WAAAYYYYY better than the 12-row kit offered by HKS. Ducting isn't that hard to make in the grand scheme of things anyway.
