Is your car stock? I have a hks carbon ti which is identical to the HI power (only difference being mine the canister is wrapped in CF)

If your car is basically stock, no it won't be loud.

Not too obnoxiously loud with a 3in downpipe and high flow cat.

It's not really 3". It squeezes to 70mm just before the canister tip. I'm assuming they did this to dampen the sound.

HKS's on boosted 2JZ's sound like sex.

I dont think HKS is as loud as the APEXI lineup so i say go for it.

Its really hard to tell considering your exhaust sound depends on your engine.

Rotarys are prone to being loud, even with just a catback and everything else muffled. Hell, the car will still be loud with a downpipe and everything else stock lol

Where in NJ are you located? I wouldn't mind checking out a 2JZ FD

I've heard bad stories about the HIpower. Its supposidly very heavy, and sits at an awkward angle on the car when backing out of driveways. I have an Apexi GT with a full exhuast, and I think that is the loudest set up I have heard on the street, and I haven't gotten pulled over for exhaust sound living in Cali, so I would say do it from the point of view of sound. I personally would go with the Greddy TI, because its the lightest and sounds the cleanest in my opinion

I just installed my HKS HiPower the other night. The fitment was very good (just like the white FD pictured above) and it weighs significantly less than the OEM exhaust.

It was louder than I had expected (I also have an HKS downpipe, but stock mid-pipe), but not unbearably noisy. I suppose its the price you pay for such cheap power.

I was in "Toyotarx7" house on Thursday and that engine he is building looks brutal. That FD is gonna be sick. Although i am not a big fan of FD transplants (rotary 100%) that 2jz engine looks crazy powerful. he also has a sweet looking 95 supra. good luck with that project - Toyotarx7
