HKB Hub w/cruise control built in!

In my quest for retaining cruise control with an aftermarket steering wheel hub I found this gem. HKB offers a hub which contains cruise control switches within the hub itself! Ive read numerous threads about modifying the stock cruise control module and retrofitting it to work on the side of the center console or in the glove box but that requires cutting/splicing etc. The fact of the matter is that any of the above is easy yet if you want something plug and play and can afford the $150 price tag that comes with it, I highly recommend the HKB OR-221 hub for our cars. Ive yet to see any FD that has this hub and I wanted to share it with the community to help decision making for anyone looking for a hub retaining cruise control easier. It took 5 minutes to install.

That center pic is the air bag deploy harness connector. Why such a high wattage resistor?

Its a resistor included in the hub kit necessary to disable the SRS light.

Excellent! Good find!

I have a pretty rare horn button on my car that has the 3 cruise control buttons built into it. That works well, but it's SO hard to find one and if this is readily available that is far superior.

Dale, RHDJapan is where I purchased the hub kit. I received the item in a week.

I have a 2002 Nardi wheel and I sacrificied my cruise control for the wheel. I have been looking for a clean looking way to regain cruise control but I cannot envision this working for me... Think I just figured out this is for flat wheel applications and will not work for a factory wheel because of the skirting.

I like this idea, but I think using the buttons would take a little getting used to. I made a bracket that bolts to the hub that holds the stock cruise control switches. Only had to extend the wires about 2" at most. Looks and functions like OEM with the wheel on. Only issue is with the quick disconnect hub removed, it looks a little odd with the buttons just hanging out there.
