Highway runner....

I dont track my FD but I have a touring modle and my mods are below. I am wanting to run 500rwhp. If I am running my stock touring oil cooler is this ok? Also if not can i get by with stock R1 duel oil coolers? Thanks

I wouldn't think dual oil coolers would be nessisary unless you are going to be tracking the car. Would be nice to help keep temps down though.

I know I can't spell.

Edit: Ohh, my dumbass just read the first 3 words of your post.. I don't think you would NEED them. They would be nice though, used r1 coolers arn't too expensive anyway.

plenty of people run the stock oil cooling system with large single turbo setups, mine is a touring, I daily drive mine and i have no problem running the stock radiator cooling system, a fmic, and the stock oil cooling system.

You seem to have some serious power potential there for a single oil cooler.

Now, if you honestly serious about not tracking your car and not driving it under high boost, load and RPM in sustained manner than a single oil cooler will be enough. What I mean in practice that if you simply going to have short bursts of acceleration, followed by cool down cruise that would be fine.

If, however, you are really going to use that power and keep the boost and/or the RPM up high for, say, longer than 2 minute sprints than, you need some serious cooling improvement in oil over the single touring cooler.

Do any of you people posting that he doesn't need them even have an oil temp gauge?

You want to know if you need upgraded oil cooling? You install a gauge!

I find it hard to believe that someone spending the money required to hit 500 rwhp would hesitate to spend a little money for better cooling!

Hah! Touché! I thought it was a cool screen name at the time before the series and drifting for that matter got really popular. Good times.

Hey man I was looking at your mods and it seems you're still on stock ports. I only say this because I also noticed you're running the 500-R turbo. I was told from A-spec that 450 rwhp would be difficult on a conservative tune, much less 500 rwhp. Could you explain how you plan to achieve those numbers. I know it's easily possible with a streetport at say 20 lbs, but doesn't seem reasonable with your current modifications.

BTW- I'm only pointing this out because I myself have a VERY similar setup and was told to expect anywhere around 400ish rwhp on stock ports with say 12-13 psi, which would be safe. Let me know. I'm interested to know if theirs something I'm missing or if you'll be doing something differently.

Thanks.

Oh and forgot to ask, but do you already have this turbo? If so, has it been tuned and dynoed?

If you listen carefully when they reach one of the tolls, as soon as the Skyline passes through you can hear a rotary screaming with an open wastegate. That sound is unmistakable.
