high idle help please

car idles at about 1500 rpm .. before i changed my spark plugs it was idling at 750 rpm .. after changing my spark plugs i knocked the vacuum tube going to boost sensor loose .. i let it idle .. and it was going all crazy (bucking and smoking) .. turned off the car .. let it run again .. same **** .. put car into gear (while holding down the clutch) .. rpm would start rising .. after many helpful replies on the forum i realized the vacuum going to the boost sensor was in fact disconnected so i replugged it back in and resetted the ecu .. the bucking went away .. didnt smoke as much .. but now the rpms are still high as **** (1500 rpm) ... ive tried adjusting the screw under the elbow leading to the throttle body .. and the two screws on the throttle body .. still no luck .. help me get my idle back to 750 .. oh rx7 gurus what should i do!?!?

Check the cruise control cable going to the throttle body. Make sure it's not being pulled too tight.

What all did you remove to do your spark plug change?

First off I'd adj. all the screws back to where they was since the car was running just fine before the spark plug change. Second leave on the throttle cable but take off the cruise control cable to make sure thats not it, but FIRST make sure you set all the screws back otherwise taking that cable off isnt going to mark that possibility off the list.

yup did that .. readjusted the screws .. unplugged the cruise control cable

still idles at 1500 rpm

went under the car .. took the spark plugs out .. put them back in .. made sure they were on tight .. car still idles high
im all out of ideas now .. someone please help me figure out why its idling so high
if this helps any, according to my boost gauge the vacuum is at about -17.5 to -18

so you took off the TB, is the gasket there leaking? that would be a vacuum leak since it's after the throttle plates. did replace the gasket? Get yourself a can of carb cleaner and start spraying around. when you find a place where you spray and the rpm goes down, you found a vacuum leak.
