High flow cat vs. emissions

How will a high-flow cat effect emissions on the FD?
I guess the car will still pass the sniff-test, or everyone would just be buying mid-pipes?

At least here in the US, most Hi-Flo cats will pass emissions. I haven't hear of a hi-flo cat being the cause of someone NOT passing emissions testing.

But yes, if it didn't pass emissions, most people would just purchase a midpipe instead.

Oh, we have emission tests! My car didn't pass it in stock condition, but the mechanic "passed" it because he was afraid to even be close to a rotary engine.
I might not be so lucky next time..

high flo midpipe will pass but if you have that combonied with a downpipe good lucj it wont pass... make sure your are really good friends with someone who can have access to emissions testing to pass you i noticed where i live mechanics will pass anything

A downpipe and hi-flow cat SHOULD pass the sniffer test (downpipe will fail visual). The car just has to be fully warmed up for the test.

Exactly. My DP and high flow cat passed the sniffer and failed the visual at one station (then passed at a different station....hehe).

The emissions levels with the DP and high flow cat were extremely low. Remember that the precat is for cold engine emissions purposes, when your car is warmed up there is little to no benefit from the precat.
