hey all!
hey everyone, first off i wanna start saying sorry if this is in the wrong section...but none the less, i am recently in the middle of selling my car(1995 eagle talon tsi awd) and i have decided that the rx-7 WILL be my next car.
now..here comes the question. which one?? i love both the fc and the fd. but i truly dont know which one i want, so i was wondering if i can get any input as to which one may be better, you know like advantages and dis-advantages of both.
thnx guys

How old are you?
How much money do you make?
Are you still in school?
What kind of $ responsibilities do you have?
How much money are you looking to spend?
Oh yeah "READ THE FAQ'S!"

+1 to all those questions. If you have money to burn and won't use it as a daily driver, get the FD. If you are on a budget, ANY kind of budget and want to use the car as a DD, then get the FC.

i gotta admit all these guys are right, owning an fd is hard on the pocket book, but what else do you have to do with your money lol. no matter how much i've spent so far i still enjoy every bit of owning an fd.

I'd have to agree that the FD is certainly a financial challenge. Unless you are in a comfortable position, money wise, I'd steer clear of the FD. It's an absolute blast! and worth every penny, but if you've only got a couple penny's to play with you will be left burned. Badly burned. Ebay items will make you start threads titled "So I blew my engine and don't know why..." You really do need to pay to play.
That being said, I agree with what the other guys said about reading the stickies and the FAQ. As an idea of what I mean... I spent well over 150 hours during the course of 3-5 months (much of that time as a guest on here, before I even made an account here) doing nothing but reading current and past threads, researching the 7. When I bought my car I knew more about how it was supposed to run and work than the seller did.
Bottom Line: Study up before you think about dropping cash on this car.
Pipe down newb.. You're just barely past your "first 72 hours" welcoming period. Don't think you can start laughing at the other new guys yet.

hey, thank you all for ur input..seriously..also, im sorry for not reading the faq's and stickys..i guess i got a lil excited about buying an rx7
but yea, im 18 and i have a job w/ my father(family business) so i should be good as to "dumping" money into the 7.
also i already have a beater, so i should be good with that as well.
but, i wanna apologize for being a nub and not reading up on stuff, so mods u can lock this thread if you want...
thanks for ur input guys(oh and i decided that i am definitely getting an fd )

Seems you donīt have any special wishes, so take this into your account, too.
Should meet your requirements, too.
1. nice import from japan
2. beautiful unique design
3. makes your panties wet, if you want to
4. everything runs fast!
Good cathartic-tea.
Sorry for this
But I made my choice. Because the engine is something special, (FC and FD) and for me the FD has the most beatiful car design ever!
The RX-7 is a special car (FC and FD). if you donīt even know which one of those... I donīt think any RX-7 is the right car for you. Thats my opinion.
kind regards
Marc

The FD is a great looking car, if your willing to work on your own car when things break down this is a good choice. Just keep in mind your buying a 16 year old twin turbo high performance sports car, people say that their 92 dodge stratus doesnt give them any problems compared to their FD, but does a dodge stratus have a twin turbo, a complicated electrical system, or a rats nest of vaccum hoses? NO. If it did, it would have just as many problems! lol

Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). It's the big production facility for Mitsubishi/Chrysler. The same one that spit out Eclipse's, Talon's, Laser's etc in the 90's... The car's which have the same body model despite being different car's/brands (like the ones listed) are commonly refered to as DSM's because they came from the same factory and were practically the same vehicle, albiet wearing different badges.
