Unhappy HELP!!! Where does vacum hose go?????

While tracking down a pesky oil and boost leak (think i fount it). I notices that one of the 2 small hose sconnected to my Y pipe was attached to a small plastic cylinder (orange-ish) which is attached to nothing. If you are looking at the car from the front it is on the right of the Y pipe and is the one that goes up (the other one goes down). I have been going through the parts fiche and service manual and have still been unable to identify where this hose goes. Can anyone help me out.

Ok i found out where it goes. It was on the vacum hose diagram. But its pretty clear that the nipple on my check valve is broken. What does the check valve do? Also the hose is the one that leads to the preassure chamber from the Y pipe.

just get a check valve from autozone. their cheap. you have to install them in the correct direction. they only allow for one direction of movement. MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL IT IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. i think the diagram states which way it is supposed to flow. . . but there should be an arrow on the check valve that states which way it flows. just check it and keep it marked

Yeah they do for 100% markup you think they would at least give you good service. Well into the rats nest for me tonight. Hopefully this well be the solution to my boost leak problem, im not gonna be too hopefull this time. Everytime I think I have it I find something else loose. That boost gauge was a good investment though . before I only suspected, now I know . Here a leak there a leak every where a leak leak.

Let me guess...........

You have been having trouble with your second turbo, right? Maybe it kinda comes on sometimes, and sometimes not.

The disconnected hose you are describing is the feed line to the pressure tank. If the pressure tank is not storing pressure, the turbo actuators will either not function, or will be very sluggish because the vaccume side of the system is having to do all of the work. I am sure that you will see a difference in boost above 4500 once you get that fixed, assuming the rest of the system is working.

Good luck.

Jeff

arex-7 - no I have been having 0 boost on botth turbos lol. First there was a huge hole in one of my couplers. So i replaced and guess what? Still no boost. So I continued to track it down and found that there was a leak where a different coupler connects to the Y pipe apparently my turbo leaks oil intake side (dont wanna think about that yet) and some of the oil was leaking through the coupler where it was not on tight enough (yay oil leak helped me find boost leak). So as I was about to reassemble the Piping When I decided to make sure all hoses I could check were on tightly, as I did not want to have to repeat all this (one of the coolant hoses crumpled in my hand but thats anothert story). any way i notice this lone vacum line with the check valve attached to it with the other end obviously broken.... and thus we are up to present time. I have the new radiator hose sitting in my car and I guess im going back to the auto store for a check valve (info courtesy of rotorbrain). When I get home tonight and everything is back together, im hoping to get boost.
