Arrow help w/ airbag stuff

ok, it seems like the goober who owned my car before me ripped out EVERYTHING that had to do w/ the airbag system instead of just unpluging the airbag, in my car (a 1993). i just bought a complete wiring harness and a 1994 dashboard w/ the passenger airbag. i had a post a while back about swapping from a 1993 -> a 1994...it doesnt seem like the swap will be too difficult. anyway, i have all the wiring EXCEPT for the wiring that goes from the clockspring to the airbag. does anyone have pics/ or can tell me what is normally there... im not sure what exactly he ripped out...

also, im using a 99 nardi steering wheel and im told the airbags do not just plug in to the US harness... anyone done this before, and what would i need if you have (i dont have the old airbag to compare).

PS what does the clockspring do

FYI: from experience... DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY WHILE MESSING WITH AN AIRBAG!!! i wanted to see an airbag deploy without an accident causing it.

A couple wires should be connected to the clock spring with a wierd little black connector on the clock spring. The airbag unit should connect to the clock spring harness. As for adding your 99 nardi wheel, you'll have to cut the harnesses to make them fit.

I too have a 99 Nardi wheel that i decided not to use do to this issue AND you have to re-wire the cruise.

The clock spring is the connection device for your steering wheel buttons. It is there so wires getting tangled in the steering wheel won't be an issue. ALSO, your airbag won't work without it.

if you are going to use the Nardi wheel, without cruise (I'm sick i can't use mine), you'll have to do some harness splicing. If you want the cruise, you'll have to do some custom fab work on your NARDI wheel to get the buttons to fit, or re-route the thing to somewhere on the dash/center console/roof/hood... whatever.

if you need them, i could take some pics and explain it a little better. I didn't use mine because i wasn't willing to do the cutting/re-routing of the cruise unit.

I noticed a similar wheel but never though of buying ANOTHER steering wheel, bringing my total amount of steering wheels for my ONE car to THREE.

Maybe i can do the mail thing and mount a wheel for the passanger seat.

haha!

Thanks guys, i think i have the cruise hookup figured out. just plug it into the clock sping and mount it behind the wheel on the stationary steering column with a custom mounting bracket . I love that momo wheel ,it really makes the interior of the fd look like it is supposed to look . Now if i could just afford those type RZ lightweight Recarro seats $7,000 wow....
