Help Us Make An Important Decesion!!

ok welll let me lay out the scenerio.

we live in pakistan...there are no rotary tuners here what so ever!....no spare parts either!

importing a built engine will cost a fortune...oh yea and it gets really really hot down here!

THE DECESION

we love our rotaries, they are working fine now..just a few hickups that need to be sorted out! but i doubt they will last long cuz they are real old!

now what we have to decide is to stick with the rotaries.....try and rebuild the engine ourselves OR go for a 1jz swap which is real cheap to do here AND will be reliable in the long run!!! and by cheap i mean i could get 2 1jzs for the price of a rebuilt 13b!

PLZ DONT BASH ON US ...WE LOVE ROTARY....BUT ITS TOUGH TO OWN THEM HERE!

what do weeee dooooooo?

Well, if I was in your situation and I knew I was for one, on my own for ALL repairs and maintenance, and two, it was going to be a financial sting every time I had to order any little part....I'd probably swap it out as well.

I see where you are coming from, I would want to keep the rotary in at all costs, but realistically I would still have my limits that would push me to do a swap.

Why not an LSx swap? Have you looked into the cost of doing that. Atleast that way, any mechanic should be able to work on the car for the most part. I don't know anything about the jz swaps, so that's why I mentioned the lsx swap.

That's a shitty choice to have to make... I'd be pretty bummed if I had to choose between swapping out the wankel, and slowly watching it die..

swap it in your situation. you need parts and tuners for rotaries. Not worth it, imo.

I agree, without the support of rotary tuners, this community would fall apart. There are only a few of us that are able to rebuild engines.
