Exclamation HELP! Transmission replacement ASAP!!!

Guys,
I really, really, really, need yer help.....PLEASE. I am seriously desperate and need to get this taken care of, like yesterday.

Basically, I lost my 5 speed manual tranmission in my 93 base.

I need to find either an OEM replacement (the dealer is killing me) or a really good recommendation on a heavy duty "rebuilt" (don't want to deal with it again).

The lower the price the better, but if I got to pay for the quality, then so be it.

Can anyone please shoot me some recommendations?
I am located in the middle of the country.
Please help......

Thanks in advance.....

Can anyone else lend a hand?

Incidently, I do not have the original tranny anymore.

I need the whole "enchilada", per say.

Thank you

Check out www.pineappleracing.com maybe they can point you in the right direction.

You're in the Midwest..Oregon shouldn't be too far away.

There are several trannys for sale on http://www.ThePartsTrader.com/. Be careful when buying stuff over the internet, though, as many people have been burned by sending money and not recieving the parts they bought.

Thanks Max. I appreciate the input.

I am actually looking from buying from an actual store, hence the reason for my "pickle".

I would suggest checking out salvage yards. There are few Mazda specific ones that could probably help you. Unfortunately, I don't know their names or anything, but I'm sure a search would help.

Yup....found a used one with 30K certified miles, but I am leary about puting that into my 25K FD. (Know what I mean?) Anyway, I may have to search one of those out as I am getting low on options.

Thanks bud!

Your best option is probably going to be KDR. I hear they will deal with or without a core. Give them a call as soon as you can.

Plus, they are a VERY respected shop.

I wouldn't be too hesitant. I mean, how many failed manual trannys have you heard of? It doesn't happen too often (but I don't know what kind of hp you're running either). With only 30K miles, it should be in good shape though.

Calling KDR right now.

Well, honestly Paw, you wouldn't think I would loose the tranny on a bone stock 25K FD, either but it happened. What I thought was just a sync problem turned into a whole other slew of crap inside that housing. (like it exploded). Funny thing though is it just happened out of nowhere. I mean, she ain't abused and isn't a racer (yet).....just had a bunk tranny.

Dunno bud. She was fine, then I started noticing the notorious 4-5th gear synch problem, which seemed to be apparent. When we took the core apart, gears were chipped and warped. External seals seemed to be intact, but the internal went to "mush".

I have had standard maintenance done every 6 months even though she only has 25k (wasn't me! LOL)...
Dunno...you have a theory?

I just had my tranny with 91K miles on it torn down by a local tranny shop for a rebuild, while I was replacing my engine. When they took it apart, everything looked absolutely perfect. I just had them put it back together (rebuild kit was $800!).

I think you just got a lemon.

Me too Paw.....The only other thing I had happen on my FD was my bushings around my strut towers decided to go bad (probably just age) but I can't say it has ever happened on ANY of my other vehicles, which again have been taken care of. My Toy has been solid. Cobra has been good to me too except for the rotors (Ford just has to put a crap part SOMEWHERE on the vehicles. LOL)....
