....this is getting pretty sick trying to find one....
Anyone else have any other suggestions finding an OEM for a "discounted" rate. Lowest I got so far is $2175 shipped.

Please help if you could.

TY.

Ummm...think you just about exhausted everything. Dont know what preconceived notions you have about 5speed trannys but for FDs they are rarely "readily" available. You want one now and cheap?!! Then you get a 30k tranny but dont want to put it in your 25k car? Actually, I really "...dont know what you mean...".

REALITY CHECK!

Most of the trannys here on the forum, when the are for sale, are 400-500 dollars...use at your own risk...but if you want validated, quality tranny...at least 900 to 1200 dollars if not more. So if you are not ready to spend that kind of money quit wasting bandwidth and everybodys time!

Check Mazda Auto Dismantling (Cali) and Mazmart 1 800 221 5156 in Georgia...but let me tell ya these folks absolutely know the value of these kind of parts and you are going to have to pay for them. 5 speeds trannys are sooo hard to find!

Whoa whoa Cover8....

I am not blowing smoke up anyone's tail pipe in here and I resent the fact that you think I'm "wasting bandwidth". I was merely looking for suggestion, as "I feel" I have exhausted all avenues on my behalf and there are alot of rotary heads (specialist) in here that can provide very good suggestions, as well as the "complaining" type, obviously. If you feel that this is "wasting yer bandwidth", the don't read the fricken thread. My lord...
There isn't a reason to be patronizing....this is a forum....RIGHT?

As far as the tranny is concerned, yes I am fully aware of what is out there and have considered rebuilding a used one, but many of them have MAJOR issues that are for sale by owner....so that is ruling that option out, thusfar.

I appreciate the fact that you did provide suggestion, as ....no I haven't gotten ahold of Mazda Auto Dismantling, but am willing to call ..... and I am working with Mazmart as we speak.....err....ah, type. (Paul on the phone right now looking at stock)

Bascially, I have the cash. I NEED a supplier.
Remanf. or OEM is acceptable. "Used" could end up being Grandpa driving around in Buttf*ck, KS the last 10 years and never taking it out of first gear. (Would you want to put that into yer FD with 25K? I think not bud.)

Thanks again for the suggestion and "comment"

Found my Remanuf.!!

Many props to Mahjik! Dave over at KDR got me over to someone that could assist.

Thank you ALL for allllll of your help guys. You opened my eyes to ALOT of shops around here that can provide for parts that I didn't know about before.

With that being said, I'll stop "wasting bandwidth".....no pun intended, of course.
*heh*

unfortunately, cover8 is right. i recently blew a 5spd in my track car. best i could find was a used (45K miles) for $850(friend of a friend....one time deal) i think that's actually pretty reasonable, since repairing the blown one was probably $1000 in parts alone. these transmissions do fail for no apparent reason sometimes, babied or not. used one's are a slight risk, but if you do get one that has never been opened (easy to tell), you'll probably do fine. a fresh tranny (quality rebuild) is pricey. gotta pick your poison....

good luck
