i need your help guys, i was driving my car in the rain the other day and while i was driving the driverside rear tire started hopping like crazy out of nowhere i checked the tire and it was fine also checked the suspension and nothing loose or any thing and the axles seemed fine what could have caused this? it only hops at 20 plus mph. busted Diff? any help will be appreciated

no dude i took the tire off to check everything and all lugs were tight and are tight after i the tire back on

Not sure exactly what you mean by "hopping". Is it under acceleration, braking, steady speed or maybe after hitting a bump in the road? My first thought was a completely failed shock. You see them on cars occasionally going down the road.....the tire looks like someone is dribbling it like a basketball.

Check to see if your rim is cracked or check for knots in your tire.

Jack the rear of the car up. See if you can "steer" the rear wheels. Also, when was the last time you had the wheels balanced? Check to see if you had a weight fall off.

i just had my brother drive it by the house while i watched it and yah it looks like someone i dribbling i checked the rim and weights and all is fine tires are 2 weeks old bought new so i got a free balancing i have no idea what it is oh and the shocks look fine i have tokicos on it it was running fine till yesterday

so why don't u swap tire to other side & retry, if the problem is still in the same corner then u know its not the tire/rim etc

Jack the back of your car up and look for lose suspension parts. Check the camber adjustment nuts etc. and make sure they are tight as I have seen them come lose over time.

The tire needs to be rebalanced and the shock is bad.
