Random comment, but if they started the RX7, had it for a while, and then moved onto the RX8, why do so many people believe that there will be another generation of RX7s? I mean seriously. RX3's seem to be pretty popular too, but you don't hear about Mazda making a 2020 RX3 or anything...What makes them believe they have just been "hiding" a new RX7 for years?

...

:end rant:

"RX-7" has been, is, and should be the name for Mazda's 2-seater sports car/GT. The RX-8 is a different and larger (4-door, 4 seat) car.

I don't see the point in calling it an RX-9 unless it's a different type of model (maybe a rotary sports sedan to compete w/ the Lexus or BMW 3-series for instance). If it's just a 2-seater GT, to me that ought to be an RX-7.

I have to agree that has more luck been a new Rx8 than a 7. Rx7 might be a unique car but you cant say that was commercialy a best seller, and i believe thats what counts today. One more thing is that the car is still arrount -present ,so its not going to be a revival like for example the VW Group did this year with the new scirroco .
