I am about to try and remove my ratsnest I have a shop manual but need advice also? Thanks Channon

cut the old hose off the nipples or will will more then likly brake some.

Just got my rats nest off and fuel rail out today. It's pretty scary seeing the whole mess. When you do the search and read all the parts everyone recommends to replace (like the FPD,etc. ) don't skimp. Just replace everything recommended. You only want to do this job once. A couple more things which would help:

Home Depot has a 5 roll package of electrical tape of different colors. Useful for tagging the vac lines removed.

Every item you remove either screw the bolt/nuts back in the hole or put them in a separate Glad bag and label the bag. That way you're not searching through a bucket of nuts and bolts trying to find the right one.

I'm glad I didn't give up on the rats nest. I found fuel residue on the primary fuel injector assy which should be the source of the gas smell I had.

 

Yeah and don't break any nipples 'cuse they cost like $60 some bucks when you break them, I broke 2 and wasn't happy. Be carefull, I got careless when I broke mine.

 

if you do **** up and break a nipple you can use the EGR one in place of some others... make sure to disable the egr after that! I think its probably easier to remove the whole dame thing fuel lines and all then to just remove the rats nest itself... o yeah and search... you'll probably get 100+ hits.

Thanks guys Im also installing a fuel rail 1600cc inj, and a regulator so I think Ill do a search and becarful around those nipples.
