Jim kutschke,
What is your source for that information? As rescueranger wrote above, the dgeesman picture (below) would seem to contradict you, as do my pics of a blue connector in that area which is mated.

rr,
Any chance that "teal" wire is really a blue wire with green stripe?
The "EGR Function Sensor" connector, B1-44, which seems located in about the right place on the Emissions wire harness, is a 2-terminal connector with one brown/black wire and one blue/green wire. It shows up on page Z-32 of the factory manual. The blue/green wire runs to PCME terminal 3J, and the brown/black wire is tapped into a bus that includes the shields of some signal wires between the Igniter and the ignition coils. (I'd like to tell you it goes to chassis ground, which is probably true, but I can't prove it by the schematic.)
I'm sure you know where the EGR valve is located, so if this is the connector, its mate would have to run to that unit.

jim kutschke,
Is the function of that blue connector the EGR sensor? EGR valves are present on both Fed and CA 1993 models, but I note that the P/Ns for the EGR valves are different. If no sensor is present on the '93 models, so be it. Ours is a CA '94 and that connector is mated. (But as of now, we don't know for sure it is the EGR sensor connection.)

Is there a connector coming from the EGR? If not I would say it's not a California car...Is that possible? Thats why I was saying it was never pluged in anywhere....It should be very plain to see where it goes.
To clarify,
For 1993 FD Fed models, the Mazda P/N for the EGR Valve is N3A1-20-300. For 1993 CA models, the P/N is N3A3-20-300. For ALL 1994+ models, the N3A3-20-300 P/n is used. My guess is that the N3A1 has no sensor, whereas the N3A3 does.
