help plz!!! sleepers(merge) 16 and rx7
Umm.. for you insurance will probably be $4,000+ a year for insurance, hell I am 22 and mine is about that much. You know how to take care of it? Did you do research on what needs to be done/looked at when you get the car? In my personal opinion 16/FD don't mix well, try 16/2nd gen gxl or something like that...
insurance is hella high...its not for every 16 yearold..i had mine since i was 16..
ive been workin my *** off like a 30 year old to pay/mod for it
its not forgiving to drive, you have to be good or drive like grandma...
personally id vote aginst it...but your only young once...but you only die once 2 and you can be broke forever

A first generation or maybe a second generation might be fine, but do not get a 3rd generation. The maintance and insurance will kill you. Also, I'm not sure be such a young driver would be a good thing in owning an FD. To much tempation to race and show off and not being a good driver to handle the car.
You say you can afford it but then you ask in a "oh god, how bad is it going to be" tone, "how much is insurance going to be."
Just because you can afford to make the monthly payments doesn't mean you can afford the car. You have to factor in gas, insurance, and maintenance. Maintenance alone could cost you several thousand dollars over the first year or two, and that does not include replacing a motor or the turbos.
Personally, I think any parent that lets their 16 year old kid get a car like this should be shot. (strapping flame suit on) Most likely, you will wreck it or not be able to maintain it properly and there will be another POS FD for sale.
My advice is wait. If you have to have an RX-7, check out a FC turbo. They are much cheaper and they're not exactly slow.
Sorry if this seems harsh, but I love these cars and I was patient enough to wait until a time in my life when I can afford to own this car.

However, the sportier the car, the more your insurance is going to be. You are 16? Hell, just get a some POS car to tear up for a few years and save your money.
fd sleeper=lmao
well if you consider a car 1/2 of the us population cannot identify or mistake it for a viper, ferrari, lambo or somthing custom, a sleepr to begin with all you got to do is keep a quiet cat back on it like the racing beat...asside from that any mods are applicable.. single turbo..haltec whatever you heart or bank accout desires

I don't recommend it...I work my butt off while in college and barely scrap by in fixing it, fixing it up, and making payments (insurance and monthly). I say if you really think you can afford it then go for it....but try asking your insurance company (hey now theres an idea!!)
me ricer?? i think not
i do know about maintenance and reliability for the rx7. And i know that's its expensive. some of u think i'm just some snotty kid. thanx a lot!!! well NEWAYZ do u guys have any suggestions for SLEEPERS than??? since i'm such a dumbass that i can't take care of a rex. TAHNK U. i'm j/k , man... but some of u r really mean. l8r
I was 12 when I got mine, I decided why get insurance. You don't need it. I didn't get tags or anything either. And I don't change the oil or anything cause its cheaper. I just saved my lunch money my mom would give me. I would also beat the $hit out of the other kids in middle school and take their lunch money. Then you can have one no problem.
i'm 19 and I pay $127 ($1524/year)a month for insurance(liability), 1 speeding ticket, 1 no yeild to the cross guard and 1 major accident which resulted in my (honda s2000) being totalled. btw, I paid for both of my cars, the honda s2000 and Rx-7, but the Rx-7 was paid off from the insurance money I got for the s2000.
full coverage for me would of been $4,000 a year.
