my FD overheat to 3/4 of the temp gauge when i parked it after a highway run
it was because both fan stopped working
is it extremely deadly?
what's the sign of dying engine?

it hits the 3/4 after i shut it down i think
cos' it was still normal when i shut it down
when i was back to my car to start it again
then i knew it goes up to 3/4
i didnt notice the tailpipe
but after i managed to get it back to 1/4
the car starts up with slightly longer cranking
and the idle rpm drops to 700 instead the usual 900

if i'm understanding right the car is fine while running but after shutdown it heats up? sounds like you need the fan mod or if you've done it the fans aren't working right. not much else to heat soak once the car is shut off. the temp should come down pretty quick once you start the car and the water pump gets going though.

Sounds like the motor is ok. I would look into having the fans fixed pronto, and always (when feasible, like in your garage) pop the hood and let it cool off. Running the heat on full blast will help as well.
You need some sort of an aftermarket temp gauge as well, in my opinion.

yea I took out the entire fan setup yesterday
installed a new one
both fans are running good now
just some of the fins of the radiator turned black
looks like they were burnt
rx7will - yea it's the fan. when i pop up the hood and try to move the fan blade i discovered that the fan blade was stuck
looks like it was thrown out of it's motor

I have hit 3/4ths on the stock gauge before and the temp on the PFC hit 107°C. My coolant seals were gone long before and have been held up by clock weld. It's still kickin.
