Help Needed!!!

Hi Im new to the forums. I am not sure where this thread should go but i have some questions about the RX-7 and stuff. You see Im not a real car head, though I'd like to be, but you know.

However I live in Australia and I have just gotten my license. I am looking at buying an RX-7. However I do not want to be ripped off and stuff. I think you guys are all awesome you know whats good and whats ****!!

So i have two things:

1. here is the URL to a site which is selling an RX-7 tell me what you think. http://www.uniqueautosports.com/for_sale_mazda.htm
Please tell me if its a good buy or not.

2. If its not a good buy can you tell me where in Australia would be a good place? Do you guys know any dealers?

Thanks very much for your help!

Snook, remember those are Australian dollars.

Wingchun, you're not going to like hearing it, but the LAST thing you need for a first car is a single turbo FD. I'd recommend an FC, or a bone stock FD if you must have one.

take it easy--

I am with Goodfella on this one. If this is your first FD, the last thing you need is a single turbo. To truly learn and appreciate what this car can do, you should start with a stock FD then keep in touch with this forum and look at all the How-to web sites.

BTW, what is the current exchange rate for US to Aussy dollars?

Thanks for the help

I am a dumb **** when it comes to cars. I am sorry for being like this but Im getting into it trust me. Can you explain what I should get in dumb **** terms?

The exchange rate is roughly 1 Aus = 0.5 American! The car I like is $43,000 Australian so its roughly $21,500 American I think!

Thanks for your help again.

Completely forget the car that you just posted, it's too much car for you. In 'dumb ****' terms; buy a stock unmodified car.

The reason why people are discouraging you from buying a heavily modified or Single turbo rx7 is because the cars are very complex and tempermaental when they are stock! Now, throw in a single turbo set-up with stand alone Fuel management, & upgraded everything...you'll never beable to work on it or find anyone else that will be able to work on it for you. Unless you can ring

If u just got ur license then u probably aren't a very experienced driver.. get a stock FD and feel wat it can do.. the car u posted is way too much for you.. be careful .. accidents will happen if not careful of what ur dealing with..

IMHO a stock FD is too much for a new driver. I know many kids have gotten them as their first car, but I honestly don't agree with it. If you're interested in rotary performance, start with a Turbo II. They're inexpensive, fun, and can be made faster as you feel comfortable.
