YIKES! $125 for the titanium!

You really shouldn't have shown me that mr. Mahtab. Now I'm tempted to spend the extra for the titanium, but I know I sholdn't. Damn, I'm so conflicted.

I dont see the 7 on they're application list. Is the 7 shift **** the same size thread as a miata or something?

When I bought my Greddy ****, the applications list on the package was "Nissan/Mazda/Mitsubishi" so my guess is that the miata thread will work.

I want to know how, if you get it engraved-how do you know it will line up?

I don't wanna read "Dori dori Squid Boys" upside down.

I emailed them about the engraving and here is what he told me.

Yes, the thread for third generation RX-7s is the same as the Miata (10 X1.25mm).

Joe generally has Voodoo ***** that he can engrave and ship from his own stock.

Two things you need to know...

1. There will be a gap between the bottom of the neck of the shift **** and your shift boot when you use a Miata **** on an RX-7 (the RX-7 shift lever is longer than the one on a Miata). Others have propped the boot up to eliminate this gap.

2. Be sure that Joe tells you how best to properly orient the engraving of a **** that has been engraved without pre-indexing on the owner's car. There are two approaches to having the engraving done. One way is to take delivery of a plain Voodoo **** and install it. Once tightened all the way down, a piece of masking tape can be placed on the front side of the **** and a vertical line drawn on the tape where the exact front of the **** lies. Then you send the marked **** back to Joe for engraving. This will index the fully-seated position for him and he can properly orient the engraving so that it points the right way when the **** is fully tightened on your particular car. The other way is to simply order a **** directly from Joe that is pre-engraved. With a **** that has a neck that extends beyond the last thread of the lever, there is no way to ensure proper orientation of the engraving. This leaves you having to use something like Loctite or a spacer (Joe recommends a piece of pencil eraser, I think) to properly orient the engraving and hold the **** securely in place without its last thread being fully tightened on the lever. Although perhaps not as elegant as the "pre-indexing" solution, this approach works well enough that many Voodoo **** owners have been completely satisfied with it.

Subject: shift **** question

I have a few questions about your shift ***** so here they go.

1. I have a 93 mazda rx-7. Would you happent to know if the thread size is the same as the miata?

2. I noticed in the web site it ways your friend Joe Portas does engraving. How would I go about purchasing a shift **** and having it engraved by him? Would I pay you guys then you guys send it to him then I pay him, or would I just pay him and he purchases the shift **** and engraves?

Thanks for any answers
Hoainam

What brand of shift **** is held on by screws instead threads?

This is gonna be for my g/f car and we need one thats held on by screws.

As for my 7. I'm probably gonna get one fo the voodoo ones. I just need to figure out what I want engraved.

Thanks

Momo uses three setscrews and an adapter cap/plug/shim at the top of the shifter.

I had a short anatomical in my bmw, and in comparison to the screw on Greddy **** I have now, it felt (in retrospect) somewhat sloppy.

I am not sure how Sparcos mount, if anyone knows the answer to this, it would make a few people thankful for the info.
