Arrow help me pick a BOV!

ok i have a greddy flange on my y-pipe that just arrived, so i need a greddy BOV! rx7 store lists 3 BOV's

1) Type S for FD
2) universal type S
3) universal type R
or any other bov that would fit a greddy flange.

whats the diff between these? and how do you decide which spring option to get? i figured i'd just ask instead of sorting through endless pages of BOV q's. thanks, heath

You will want the Universal Type S.

The RX7 one mounts up to the stock y-pipe hose
You save more by going universal and having a flange welded on a pipe, like you have.

Type R is for higher boost.

Type S should more than suffice for powerful street car.

Get the Type S universal.

Type R is mainly for racing applications since it has a hard spring and is most useful above 17 psi. You can't really hear it either.

sorry this was meant to be posted in the 20 section... sorry guys. that is a y-pipe for a 20b.... i wonder if the S or R differ in the amount of flow they can handle since the 20b turbos should flow more air at the same psi.... anyway, i bet the S type should suffice... thanks for the input everyone! oh yeah, BTW i dont like that whistling sound at ALL... i can live with a swoosh, but frankly the quieter the better if it doesnt affect performance... i wonder if it would be a pain to hook up a return line into my intake piping? i havent made it yet but they will be single pipes... would it be better to return to the primary, or secondary, or it really doesnt matter?

You don't need a flange.

That's only if you are welding a flange on, which you already have done. Essentially all you need is the valve and the gasket. That's it.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that Y-pipe - it didn't look like any Efini Y-pipe I had ever seen

Anyways, getting quiet BOVs can really deprive you of one of the joys of life: pulling up next to people and blowing off right next to their window
