Help me fight heat soak!

When I start my car up in the morning, my intake temps are really low. They stay below 30c.

However, if I drive my car somewhere, park it, then start it up within the next few hours; my intake temps won't drop below the high 40's it seems.

Is there anything I can do do to fight this terrible heat soak? Sometimes when I start up my car it shows 60c! Also, should I be boosting when my intake temps are this high?

It's probably just your intake thermalsensor heat soaked from being parked (sitting under the UIM). You can relocate it to somewhere else (like your IC piping).

You need to relax. Your temps are perfectly fine. Wait until you get stuck in an hour long traffic jam in July and your intake temps go over 80C.....

Give Rick a call and voice your concerns, he'll tell you that you are fine....

Yeah seriously, intake temps of 40C are more than fine. My car made its 260hp on the dyno with intake temps approaching 70C, due to my tiny stock IC. When we let it cool down for a while, it was cooled to 45C. I mean sure it's a nice surprise when you get on it and your intake temps are at 20C, but you'd need a nice Water Injection system to keep them there consistently.

wait till you get stuck in traffic for 2 hours in 100 degree weather. Your intake temps will go past 186 F. LOL.

And how does that fight heat soak? It actually creates more of a heat load leading to increasingly high water, oil, and air intake temps....

Do the fan mod. Pretty much eliminates heat soak.
