Question HELP!!! I'm very close to solving the problem. Someone cut the ECU wires!!!!

Apparently someone cut the rear injector wires that run to my ECU. They spliced the wires that run to the rear injectors into the wires that run to the front injectors (front and rear respectively). Then they combined the 2 cut wires from the ECU and ran them to the drivers foot well. The wire was plugged into something over there (I assume whatever it was plugged into prevents the ECU from throwing out the codes for faulty injectors). I think the body shop unhooked the wire and forgot to plug it in. I can't seem to find where the wire was hooked, any ideas what you could hook the wires to in order to trick the ECU into thinking they are connected to the injectors???? Any ideas why anyone would go to the trouble of doing this??? I am almost 100% sure it was like this when I bought it. I remember seeing the wire under the dash on the driver's side but never noticed what it was hooked to.

Thanks,
-Charlie

What do I need to connnect the wire that runs to the PCME that is supposed to be connected to the rear fuel injectors to in order to trick the PCME into thinking it is still hooked up?

my guess is that the cut wires were plugged into some resistors that run the same resistance as the injectors produce when they are connected. are you planning to put the resistors back in and leave the setup as it is, or do you plan to connect the rear injectors to the ecu like it is supposed to be?

I'd prefer to just plug it back into whatever it was plugged into (a resister I guess) to save having to cut and strip the wires any more than they have already been. If I can't find out where they went for sure I am going to rewire it the way it should be. My only concern is why someone would do this and if I hook it up the way it was am I going to find out why the hard way.

All the wires on the engine harness are color coded. Fixing the problem is as simple as matching up colors. It is time consuming though, as you will most likely have to pull the whole harness off and take off all the tape and wrapping. Then re-wrap it.

I changed the wires back to the way they should be. Everything seems to be working fine. Thanks a lot. - Does anyone know why they would have been run like that?
