Unhappy Help identifying a couple connections

Working on my FD, and I noticed an unplugged connection. In the attached picture, it's at the far left of the picture at 3 o'clock and pointed toward my camera. The wire looks looks like it's red/black, and it feeds into the harness at the same location as the wire coming from the power steering pump.

I also noticed there's a wire coming out from under the steering pump, which someone has connected to the brown/white wire going into the harness at the same location.

I'm wondering if the red/black wire plugs into the but the wire coming out of the steering pump, but then where does the brown/white wire go?

I've been reading the FSM from Z-28 to Z-34, but I'm still not sure what goes where.

Any help identifying these connections would be greatly appreciated

That's supposed to read: "I'm wondering if the red/black wire plugs *into the wire* coming out of the steering pump, but then where does the brown/white wire go?"

I've at least figured out that the unknown connection doesn't go into the wire coming out of the bottom of the PS pump because they're both male connectors.

ppritchard,

Thanks for the pic. I've saved it and will continue analyzing it.

sorry what color are the wires comming out of it , can you follow it back and see if they have been changed because that looks kinda like a water temp sensor .

if its grey its the oil pressure sensor

it could also be one of the AC connectors .

Check out this old thread, it has at least a couple of color explanations similar to yours

if it's black it is for the coolant level sensor for the buzzer in the dash for low coolant level, the sensor is on the front of the thermostat housing(the jumper lead is pictured with the main harness above on the right top side).

if it's white then it is for the A/C clutch on the A/C compressor.

Correct me if i'm wrong because i have a similair issue, the black one for the coolant level sensor has reddish brown dots that run the length of the wire right? So that level sensor hooks up to the p/s pump? then to the... The wiring in this car is so weird.

he was referring to the disconnected black plug to the far right, which i can't recall the wire color offhand but is the only black single spade connector in that area.

Download the wiring diagrams and cross-reference the wire color.
