throttlebody coolant line. Follow the elbow back to the throttlebody. Look on the firewall side (back) of the throttlebody and you should see it.

Sounds like your throttle body coolant hoses. They starts from the back of your block under your UIM and rats nest and ends at the brass/copper pipe by your fuel lines.

Find out exactly which hose is leaking and replace it with new clamps.

If it is leaking from a hose just replace the hose or make sure it is on correctly and that the clamp is tight and seated in the correct spot. Sounds like a simple problem, nothin to be real worried about.

BTW if your car is completly stock I highly suggest replacement of the pre-cat with a downpipe.

Yes, do that if needed, and upgrade/eliminate the AST.

No ecu needed yet. You can even go for a cat back if you want. I suggest to check all your piping for leaks make sure you do not have any, and get a boost controller to keep boost in check. You should also spool a bit faster beacause of it.

i would reccomen getting a ecu. We put a cat-back, intake and down pipe on and it leaned it out too much and blew the motor 2k miles later. Pettit has one that is perfect for those mods. For your coolent leak, i had a coolent leak and I hit a little bump and ended up craking my radiator, where it rests on the bushing supports. The way mazda desighned it is so dumb b/c the radiator is attached to the sway bars and if u bottom out even a little that is the first place to hit, then it puts pressure on your radiato and cracks it.

BAD ADVICE.

Ive known 3 people with 1-3 mods blow their engines on stock ECU. Just not worth modding it and have it go over 10psi at all.

A whole different discussion, but dont learn the hardway

Whats the price on the pettit ecu? I am planing on doing more work in the future. what would be the best ecu for me with a good price? I would like my car to boost a little faster. What kind of turbo job can i do that is reasonable in price. what kinds of mods have to be done to do this. i need it to be reliable too. What would be around the rwhp i will be putting out when i put the downpipe and intake on? I have a question will a rx7 with these mods be able to out run a stock toyota celica newer model turbo.

snagalittle -

no need for an ECU yet. just keep your boost under 10psi and you should be okay. that is the important thing.

I would recommend that you upgrade your car slowly and one step at a time. go find gordon's recent thread about "things I learned". it was a great post.

hook your boost gauge up first. take your car out and play around a bit. see what the 4500 RPM transition looks like. see what it *feels* like. make sure that everything looks good and normal. do NOT treat it as some sort of "power meter" - higher is not better, 10 is good :-).

then do the downpipe. see how your boost changes. look into changing out the pills or installing a needle valve to control your boost. make sure everything is happy. enjoy the car for a while.

then tackle the intake, if you still want to. I'm running a DP+catback and I track the car. more than enough power to have some serious fun. good tires, good brake pads, good shocks are my main concerns now - more power will not make my lap times faster, nor will it make me a better driver.

remember - have fun.
