Have you verified the battery is good? It is possible to have enough power for lights but not enough to turn the starter.

Check the basics? Fuses? Fuel pump energizing?

Battery checked - good.... fuses will get that checked asap, and fuel pump dont think since it doesnt even crank or anything like that.

Also... how would I know if my engine is bad?

if it doesn't crank, and your battery is good. Then have your starter, and starter signal wires checked.

Ask the previous owner if there was a kill switch or check yourself. Always a possibility.

we could use more info. does the engine crank over and just not start, or does it not even turn the engine over?

If its not turning over the starter solenoid is probably not getting voltage due to either the security relay (which can be bypassed) a clutch switch, which usually has the spring inside fail, or maybe the ignition switch itself which is less likely.

Not cranking is a starter problem. It could be blown but it would still crank. Maybe your starter is bad.

If its not cranking you need to start with the basics. Engine not cranking has nothing to do with the engine being good or bad. That should be very obvious! You may want to consider finding a mechanic but anyways, First verify the battery is good. Next check that the starter is getting power. Most likely it is not. This could be caused from bad security relay, clutch switch, ignition switch, wiring , or fuses. If it gets power then pull the starter and bench test it.

Starter or just bad terminals would be a guess from me. My terminals made enough of an connection to have radio, headlights, sunroof, etc. but not enough power for the starter. I hit it and it worked

You bought a car that can't start? There's your problem.

Push start has been suggested twice which is where you roll the car with the clutch in and the gear in either 1st or 2nd, key in ON position of course. As it rolls you can slowly release the clutch and then engine should come on. If you know the car runs there would be no point doing this.

You're on the right track. Start with the solenoid.. If something were wrong with the starter it'd be making noise, right?

Just a newbie helping another newbie..
