Help on car pricing.

Ok theres a Silver Fd that was repainted (ok paint job) that is the touring editon 91' with over 160k miles on it. He put a rebuild with less than 10k on it. Has a sunroof hks bov and exhaust. I kno this guy is nuts but hes asking 10.5 with a salvage title. He said it was a minor accident on the rear quarter panel which was already taken car of. I kno chassis damage could be a problem which is why im taking it to mazdatrix for a full inspection. Now with all this in mind how much should i intially offer him or low-ball offer him to work up to a good-fair price for being what it is. Im thinking not to pay more than 7-7.5k for it. maybe offer 6k. But all in all what arguements can i say should the chassis and the engine be good after the inspection to tell him to drastically lower the price of it because reguardless salvage title is still a savalge title. THX

I've seen a salvage title FD go for $22K, at least that was what "turbojeff" was asking for his rebuilt CYM.

It is sold FYI.

To be technically correct it was a salvage title, after it was repaired it was a reconstructed title.

Most cars, FD or not, that have been salvaged/repaired do not get a complete/proper repair. My CYM went through a complete rebuild from the ground up, literally.

A salvage title is not the thing you want when you try to sell the car. Its one step from a
parts car.

Dude, he is asking way too much for that. Think about it, any 7 owner on the forum will tell you that you have to put in a lot of $$ for maintenance/general repairs for a 7 that is in great shape, let alone some salvage title. If you try and resell this car someday you won't get anything. And 160K original miles says it all. I don't care what type of rebuild it is, this car was driven HARD. Offer 6k if you have the time and money to make it your project.
