Hello everyone..i have some question..

Hi guys...finally after 1 year fo searching i've buy my 1992 FD3s USA Version...i live in Italy and here doesn't exist the FD culture... ...now my FD was stock and i tune it with a HKS Silent HI-POWER CATBACK 76mm-170mm-120mm...now my question is...i've buyed T-PROS MIDPIPE and DOWNPIPE...naturally the ECU is still stock version..with this mods how many HP (from original 255) i have gained? and i must make any other mods with mid-down pipe and catback to ensure the engine life?
Thanks for the asnwers

If you bought the midpipe and downpipe but did not install them, then get a boost gauge before adding the midpipe and downpipe.

The problem is that a full exhaust has very little restriction and will usually cause a stock car to create too much boost. It can cause boost spikes and boost creep. You need the boost gauge installed before and after to ensure things did not go bad. Too much boost kills motors, and it sounds like rebuilding a motor will be difficult in Italy. Raising boost requires upgrading the fuel system and tuning.

Does the T-pros midpipe have a high-flow catalytic converter in it?
If it does not, my recommendation is to install only the downpipe and leave the stock cat in place. To make the terminology more clear, here when we say 'midpipe' it means no cat. Otherwise we just say 'hi-flow cat'.

To be truly safe with a full exhaust or even dp/high-flo/cb exhaust, you need two mods: boost controller and ported wastegate. (Plus the boost gauge, which is important all of the time). If you run a search or check the FAQ thread you can learn more about these mods.

yes the T-PROS is midpipe without cat converter...i will eliminate the pre and main cat with this pipes...www.ebstores.com i have buy the pipes on this site...but the HKS Catback are the SILENT version..is street legal in japan...and the muffler have the silencer on it...i think with this street legal Catback(in japan here in italy absolutely not eheheh) and the 3" mid and downpipe the engine life and turbos life is improved..without ported westgate..what do you tell me?..it's necessasry the ported westgate to safe engine?= this 13b have only 34Kmiles...

Do not run this midpipe now. It will make your boost too high, and the stock ECU will not do anything to control it.

The downpipe is ok to install. You will get 20-40hp over stock with a cb, dp, and intake. But install a boost gauge first, so you can monitor your boost levels. Never assume the boost level is correct.

The restriction of a catalytic converter has a very big effect on boost control. Installing this midpipe will require other changes, or else the boost will go too high. This won't simply put more wear on the engine, it will very possibly kill the engine all at once.

You need to install a boost gauge. When putting bolt-on mods on an RX-7, you need to know the boost level before and after the mod. If the boost starts to change much (stock = 10psi, at 11-12psi it's time to install a boost controller) you need extra mods to get it under control again. A midpipe needs a ported wastegate, and an aftermarket boost controller is also a good idea.

When you have the money for a boost gauge, boost controller, and ported wastegate, then go ahead with the midpipe.

You haven't discussed the maintenance yet. When buying a used RX-7, it's very important to be absolutely sure the maintenance is 100%, and critical if you want to install mods.
