Heat coming through floor/firewall

My passengers always complain of being hot. Also, occasionally, my legs will get pretty hot as well. Has anyone done anything to keep the heat out of the cabin (right word?). My downpipe and most of my midpipe is wrapped with header wrap. I've thought about pulling up the carpet and using Dynamat Extreme to keep some of the heat out. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

The material you are using on your downpipe and midpipe is a POS and should be removed. It will eventually cause problems if you leave it on. One solution is to use a special coating. For example, http://www.hpcoatings.com/motorsports.htm uses a material to reduce the temp. I used their Hi Per Coat Extreme on my downpipe and they did an outstanding job. I had it on for over a year and never had a problem. Another solution is to use your A/C.

I think I remember reading a few threads in the interior/exterior section that might help.
Also, this company (and probably others) offer thermal and sound insulation that you can install inside or underneath your car. Seems kinda pricey, but you probably get what you pay for, and you avoid having to take out the seats, carpet etc.

I used Dynamat Extreme in my doors when I did my audio system. It was pretty easy to apply. It helped a lot with noise but I just wonder how it helps with heat.

What should I expect to find when I pull up the carpet? Obviously, I can unbolt the seat and should be able to peel the carpet back on each side and let it hang over the trans tunnel. Is there glue? Carpet pad? How easy is it to get the material to conform to the ridges and bumps on the floor?

piano I think he meant do it from underneath the car
taking the carpet up is a huge pain and it doesnt really peel off or fold over because its very thick. Theres padding and wires under it. You'de also have to remove the dash to get at where the passengers feet go

Okay. I was on a different page. If the car is up on a lift, is it fairly easy to apply then?
