headlight housing
I don't currently own an RX-7, but they are one of my dream cars that I plan on getting as soon as I can, probably right out of college...
But I'm a 3d modeler and I've been working on a FD3S for a while now, probably about a year, and I never actually found out what the headlights look like... here is a picture of the base model that I have, and I need to get some good pictures to finish off the headlights...

Nice model. However, in stock form, the headlights raise up quite a bit more than what you have in your model. If you want something aftermarket, try look at these pics:

If they raise up more, can you give me at what angle? From the resting position as a reference point of 0, i have them raising up 30 degrees, I wasn't quite sure on that part either.

Those pictures actually help a lot...I can see that I have a lot of work to do on the headlights still, if you have any more pictures closer up, different angles, that would be incredible, with those two alone I could probably do it but more would help.
Thanks for the comments on the model guys, and those pictures are a great help.

I know that I'm double posting with those next one, and that is generally frowned upon, but I don't see a "edit post" button...
Anyway, I did work on the headlights and want to know if this angle looks right to you guys as well from your personal knowledge of the car...
I think I got it right this time, but I might be off by a few degrees, I have it set at a 40 degree angle from the resting position.

The program is called Cinema 4D, I *dont* suggest downloading a cracked version of the program, because the full bundled program costs around $2,500 haha...
Well here the headlights are at a 45 degree, compare between the two and see which one you like best...I'll go with whatever the general consencise is between the...whole two people who post here? lol
Model at 45 degrees rather than 40, check previous post by me for the 40 degree.

Yeah I'm sticking with the 45, after rotating around it a bit and checking all the angles I thought it looked more right myself, and also, another question, is the hood hydrolic? Or is there a hook that you lift up to hold it?
A lot of cars have the hook bar, but my car has a hydrolic hood which I love, but if it's not I'll have to find out how far the hood angles up too, and set a snap angle for that as well.
Hopefully that all made sense, I'm currently sick and stuck at home, that's why I'm responding so fast...lol

Those pictures did help, thank you very much. I think the headlights are fine now...I think they may need some more work but I'm getting sick of working on it.

I have them in a rectangle shape, the lens effect is what makes it a circle, I have no control over that...the one way I might be able to make it a rectangle is by making the lens effect really low, and then copying the lights until they are in a rectangle position...
The light bulb object itself is in the right shape however...
I've ran into this problem before...I hate the lighting system in the program I use sometimes
