headlight flip up switch

This is kinda an odd question, but is the flip-up switch, on the dash, a momentary switch? I'm meaning the button on the dash that flips the lights up but doesn't turn them on. Thank you.

It flips them up until you press it again.

On a side note, if you press it really fast, the headlights will start lazy eyeing. It's really funny

I know what it does, I'm trying to find out if it is a momentary switch so I can use it as remote switch for my Profec. I'm basically trying to this

except with headlight flip-up switch. Does it work the same as the defroster switch, like in this thread?

I'm guessing it does, because the motor will need another signal to retract the headlights, but I just to make sure so I don't fry my new boost controller.

it depends if you ever leave your car in the cold or snow. its used to keep the light up so they dont freze over and be able to drive it. but its now really needed if you dont winter drive it.

Ok, I guess I should clarify a little bit better. I now have sleek headlights, so I no longer need the switch to flip up the headlights to work for that function. I'm trying to turn it into a remote switch for my Profec to switch between the low and high settings. I found a couple threads describing how to make your own remote switch instead of buying the Greddy one. Rather than putting in some switch from radioshack that looks like crap, I'd like to use this switch since it no longer has any function.

The only thing I'm not sure about is whether or not it is a momentary switch, which is needed for the profec remote switch. I'm thinking it is because the headlight motor needs another signal for it to turn and retract the headlights. I just want to make sure before I do this, so I don't short anything out in my new boost controller.

No prob. You should def use that switch for somethin though. I use mine to turn on my headlights without any taillights or other being visible. Allows me to be a bit stealthy at night if need be...
