headlight cover flew off!!!
I Was Driving Down The Interstate Tonight And My Headlight Cover Flew Off!! Has This Happened To Anyone Else?? And Where Can I Get Another One?? Im Thinking About Just Getting The Headlight Conversion...

Which one came off?
Why didn't you just go back and get it?
This has happened before but I still don't understand why no one goes back for the thing. It makes much more sense.

They're complete replacements.
www.rx7.com has them. Go to the Intake section and pick one out you like. They're like $140 I think. You can get FEED or CWest.

If you're thinking of getting the conversion, here's a good price for the CW style.

I've had mine fly off when the plastic clips broke (there are two small ones and one long one). The screws also tend to loosen over time. It is usually the passenger side headlight cover that flies off.

That is really unfortunate. Both of my headlight covers were also cracked along the seams of the flimsy plastic pieces the screws clamp down on. As a result I ended up breaking out a little JB weld. A little ghetto? Perhaps, but you can't see it applied, it strengthens the area much better than stock, and its a much more cost effective alternative to purchasing new ones.

Anyway, mine has flown off a couple of times, I always just go back for it. I also keep a screwdriver in the car. Wen I see it starting to flap in the wind, I stop and tighten it up.

I went back for mine but couldnt find it. It probably hit the semi that was behind me!! I think mine fell off because the owner before me tried something half-assed...

i think its pretty common.
mines has flown off before, its amazing it did not get smashed to peices on the highway (considering it was in the fast lane of the highway for about 4-6 hours). I called the cops and they helped me slow traffic so i could drive by and pick it up

The JBWeld trick works pretty good. When mine flew off racing an E46 M3, I went to Mazda and got the replacement (74.60). Then I went to Home Depot, and bought some PVC Cement. It actually bonds the plastic better than the JB Weld. I put the cement all along the seams and brackets where the screws hold the cover on. Put like 2 or 3 coats, and let it dry for one whole day, and your in business. Ive had my car to about 162 (supposdely) and it hasnt even budged. Of course I didnt cement them on either. Just a quick fix about 4 dollars.

Ouch! That definitely sucks. I don't think they come painted from anywhere so i would get one then take it to get painted and maybe have them look at fixing the scratches it caused. That really sucks though.

My covers flew off before. Scared the hell out of me. I turned around and got mine though. Put two wood screws through it and the headlight housing thing. Good as new.
