Mine also flew off,.... just 2 days after I brought her home. I was driving on the expressway about doing 70mph when the right (pass.) cover became airborne! I got off the ex-way turned around and went back to look for it. It had been run-over several times (inconsiderate bastards ) My cover had met death in a very sudden and unexpected way!!.

It was hell trying to recover the damn thing. It's resting point ended up to be on the inside shoulder. 4000 pound cars speeding passed you 10 feet away doing 70mph,...feels and look like Indy race cars coming at you at 200 mph. Pretty scary (and stupid) thing to do!!

Anyway, I took the car over to a friend that owns a paint shop. He ordered a new cover and painted it all for 65 bucks.

Needless to say, I check at least once a month to make sure the covers are screwed on tight.

my drivers side was all brittle and broke of when i was doing like 80 at night. the best idea i have for you if you get new one is to put silicone around the plastic mounting brackets it looks like the guy that had it b4 me did that to the passenger side ( probally flew off b4) but didnt do the drivers side. it sould reniforce it and keep it from getting heat damaged

I had the passenger one "fly" off about a two years ago. I was flipping up my lights and the thing just took flight, flew about 10 feet above my car. I saw it land in the road behind me, looking in my rear view mirror. Then.........CRUNCH. It was sad to see her go to the beach for the first time with a black eye.

Don't go for the vented unless cooling a light bulb makes HP. No place for the air to go.

Mine flew off...at 50 mph when popping up my lights I didn't know what it was at first I thought it was a low flying bird then i look at my headlight and saw it missing went back to find it. It wasn't on the ground it was NOWHERE to be found. The Case of the Missing Headlight Cover...Unsolved

this happened to me once, I was driving down an empty street and I though " floor it" all of a sudden I noticed something fly up and over the bonnet , WTF???
I got out and took a look and one of my headlight covers had gone.
After a breif search up and down the road I found it in perfect condition in the grass, PHEW!!
