Aww I thought it was gonna be a video of you stripping the car making it weigh less rather than a video of a pre-recorded arbitrary number... At least you could have showed the scales at zero and driven on them I got a picture of me on a scale weighing 150!

Good job.. so are there any posts about how you did it? Or is this one of those secretive hush hush projects?

Do you have any pics? I can't imagine how you fit the door bars inside the interior panel, unless they run very low, or your leg is resting against the bar...

Also, what diameter door tubes, and is it a legal cage?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm curious to see how you did it! I'm in the same boat - I want a [mostly] full interior, but I'd like to run a cage in my street-driven FD for track events. I'm not willing to gut the door like in the racecar.

The roll bar is from Kirkey and it's a pre-made 6 point. It's legal and the OD is like 2 inches. It's a road race roll bar and is heavy. Anyhow,

Oh, I thought you were talking about a full competition-legal cage - I've yet to see one (custom or prefab) with door bars that don't require removal of the driver-side door interior panel. The really robust ones (ones I'd feel safe in) require gutting the door as well...

"Ernie T" has a full 10 point cage and he still has all of his interior.

Check out his pictures.

and how much would a cage like that be without door bars?, i just want a mild cage and still wanna be able to get in and out of the car easily, that or i guess i could prolly modify a cage and put a hinge pin on the bottom part of the tube and a latching system on the top so the door bar can be swung in and out

Here's a full cage with swing outs and the door panels still in the car.

What using a hole saw on all of that panelling? I did that on my v8 FC. I just took a 3 inch hole saw to the all the sheet metal I could find and once I weighed about 100 3in pizza sheet metal disks and was suprised on how much they actually weighed.
