Exclamation Happy days are (soon) here again!

After 10 months and two days, and almost to the minute, my car actually turned over and was RUNNING!!!!!! My mechanic called me on my cell phone so I could hear it - I couldn't stop smiling for about 10 minutes

Do have a question, though....went non-sequential, but apparently my wastegate I bought from someone I know wasn't ported like I thought. Major problem, or something I can take care of down the line when money's not so tight? I have a blitz manual boost controller and plan on running it at 10lbs.

Other than that, I can't frickin' wait! I may have it back as early as Friday night - but I'm shooting for Sunday just in case something else comes up.

<sorry to waste bandwidth...just had to share my excitement with people who understand!>

Did you go with BNR? I will be starting mine in the next week or two after it has sat since Sept. 28, 2002 at 8:56AM. I am hoping for the best with the new motor/turbo kit etc....

Congrats on getting her going...are you going to the Revolution? A few of us from MO are going up together if you are.

The motor is BNR. Not sure about the Revolution. Probably not as my work schedule is pretty tight.

For now. I'm looking at the Pettite upgrade. I've been "told" as long as I keep the boost under 11 lbs I'll be fine.

Glad to hear the good news. The wastegate porting is evidently not that hard, but getting the turbos off to do it is pretty labor intensive. You should't encounter boost creep as long as you have some kind of cat, even the high flow one you have, so i'd say wait on the porting.

yeah why stock ecu?
I disagree about being comfortable at 11psi. I would get the boost as low as possible and still be worried.
Don't get the pettit ecu get a powerfc you have too many mods. I have the pettit it's kind of like having an automatic transmission you just get in and it does stuff without you being able to control it.

Well, for starters after everything else the PFC is way out of my price range. Secondly, I've heard plenty of nightmare stories about people not being able to tune the PFC right, etc. I'm still evaluating my options, but like I said I can't afford the PFC anyway.

You're running twins in non-seq, right? If so, the wastegate is "built-in" to the turbos (unless you have some very custom setup). You therefore can't just buy the wastegate. You probably mean that the wastegate on the turbos isn't ported, which will be a big deal when you get a midpipe or anything that increases exhaust flow. I ported mine myself, and it wasn't *that* hard, just took forever.

Correct, and I will never do anything else to the exhaust so I'm not too worried about it. While more power is always nice, I'm more concerned with longevity and reliability - the car was already fast as **** BEFORE I did all this work

And when I said "wastegate that I bought from someone" I meant the whole turbo system - I guess that wasn't very clear the way I worded it.

Anywho, looks like I'll be picking it up either Saturday night or Sunday morning. I still haven't gotten the driver's side window replaced (long story, that) so it depends on the temps - although I may just bundle up like an Eskimo just to get it back sooner Apparently it started up just fine this morning, so things are looking good. Just have to install the stock cat-back and finish up my gauges and we should be set!
