okevin, I suggest you calm down with your posts unless you want me to delete this thread and provide you with a ban. I was nice enough to keep this thread open and edit your post above, next time, I will not be so nice.

Sorry, but the FD RX-7 does not suffer fools gladly, as the old saying goes.

This is the internet and you need a thick skin to survive..... people are trying to help you out here, stop whining like a little kid.

This forum is an awesome source of information if you know how to use it. As a self-proclaimed 'new guy' you should try being a bit humble. Members gain credibility by their knowledge of these cars and engines, and it's obvious by this thread you're at ground zero. Stick around awhile, listen to the good advice, help others out, and one day maybe you won't have to resort to using juvenile insults like calling us all '*******.'

Just go to a reputable shop, don't just go to ANY SHOP.

And choose a standalone that your tuner knows, the AEM has it's problems as well.

Your in florida there are a lot of rotary guys there.

I hate to say it but , just buy a microtech lt10c + x4 + msd coils be done. Or if you have the money haltech p1000.
You have to remember these cars are old, harness are all fried up brittle it's better to buy a standalone that you have to make your own harness that way you are sure the harmess is brand new.
But first ask your tuner. I would take it to cft rolando lopez or boris rojas from deliruim. I know boris and I'm one uundred percent sure he will tell you to throw thr apexi in the garbage and put micro or haltech.

the issue with the commander is probably bad solder joints just inside the commander off the wiring loom. after years of use and bending the wires it is a known issue.

under the "tools" tab in FCedit iirc there should be an "initialize" function there as well, which will pull up the default maps.

I am actually over in WPB. Cape Coral is a bit of a drive. I go to Ft. Myers every other month for work. Maybe I can take a look for you next time I am over there.

When I installed my FPR I had similar problems , it got fixed by me loosening the FPR bolt almost to the max it would go. ( less pressure ) it cant hurt to try.. ( do you still have the stock FPR ) ? or is it only the aftermarket one?

Ok well when you redid the FP wiring , what fuses did you use? check them to see if they are heating up . I know my fuel pump would eat up fuses until I swapped to 40 amp

i recently had a starting issue out of the blue, it ended up being the connector that goes from the fuel pump to the top of the assembly.. was corroded or burnt or something, cleaned it off and it started

I'm not trying to be rude, but if you're going to be doing the mods that you are doing you need to learn a bit more about how and why EFI functions the way that it does. Take a class or read a book on basic electronics while you're at it. When you understand ohms law, Bernoulli's principal, and a bit of fluid dynamics the car will be easy to figure out.
