Gtech Times

My car is MEGA slow!

did 0-60 in 6.1

and 1/4 mile in 14.7

and that was the best run!

One of my runs was 16.3!

WTF?

Tell me what you think.

i did 0-60 in 3.8 sec on the side of a highway. (BFG drag radials in back). The GTech is pretty accurate, the problem is you have to break the law to do most of the tests in public roads.

Thanks for making up for my laziness, Mahjik.

Well, not to bash autos... but, I remember an old "shootout" magazine article in one of the magazines (MT, R&T, etc) that compared 3 stickshift cars, and 3 auto versions of the same cars in the next article. An RX and a WS6 was def. in there, a supra was probably the 3rd car. For the sticks, the RX was the fastest (or was it 2nd fastest?). For the autos, the RX was the slowest, by a good margin. The auto 0-60 was over a second slower than the stick.

Maybe some auto drivers with similar setups can chime in, but I'm not suprised myself.

Edit: I just found the article on www.iluvmyrx7.com. It's called the "Auto Shootout". I read the first page, and now the site isn't responding.

gtech's are nice, at 5200ft i did a 14.1 and 0-60 in 5.7 w/ just an intake. best 1/4 time is a 13.5 @110, w/ my current mods. haven't taken my car to the track yet to compare. my friend's vr-4 did a 14.7 w/ tranny problems (not stock).

If you're trapping 110 you should be a lot faster than 13.5. Were you launching, or just a gentle start?

OK I finally got my boost gauge in and...
my boost patteren is messed up.
its supposed to be 10-8-10 stock right?
well mine goes up to 6 then drops to 5 and then keeps dropping all the way to redline where its about 1.5.

What could be wrong?

Sounds like you done sprung a leak boy..

Could be a boost leak, could be old shitty turbos, could be anything, sounds to me like you have a vacume line problem. Quit being lazy and print up a vac hose diagram. Replace all hoses, check all solenoids, make sure they are all hooked up correctly. Then sell your FD and get a stick..

lol.. Im just kidding

If you only have one leg than its ok to have an auto, otherwise you should get a stick.

How would I know if the turbos are bad?

I have been told that I dont need an ecu that all I need is an intercooler a non seq conversion and a boost controller to hold the boost at 10psi.
They said as long as I dont go over 10 the stock ecu can handle it.

Is this right?
