Greddy SMIC hard pipe question

Hi. I could use some insight on what people running a Greddy SMIC use to connect it to a Greddy Elbow. Is there a generally known pipe application out there that works or is it mod/fab to suit? Thanks!

(not my car, just from Google)

Greddy sells a hard pipe kit that has the elbow, that pipe, and the IC to Y-pipe hard pipe with couplers and everything.

I imagine you could fab one out of 2 45 degree bends but unless you have a welder and bead roller it's gonna be more work/cost than buying that pipe.

Where were you before I bought the elbow?? Thanks.
What pipe is this? Too big for before intercooler where it's just an elbow.

That’s the post turbo pipe which connects the cross-over to the IC.
You want this pipe to connect the IC to the Greddy elbow.

Correct, just didn't recognize the other one. I bought mine with an aftermarket SMIC.

Thanks!

Would anyone with the Greddy SMIC setup be kind enough to measure that pipe or that run for me? I might have kicked into something that would work. Seems about right length. Thanks

The stock pipes are 2.75". That VERY likely will work, worth a shot.

^Agreed. And if needed, a hump-hose coupler will give you a LITTLE to play with. But if you don’t already have them, a set of T-Bolt
clamps might be called for.

(*lucked into, I mean)

Thanks, guys. It's already getting delivered today so we'll see. Sending all the stuff out for ceramic and powder coating before install but I'll try to mock it up first.

I'm going mostly wrinkle black for a more OEM look. Any thoughts out there about heat transfer ceramic coating? I was thinking about using it on either the core or the whole intercooler including end tanks.

IMHO I don't think it will make that much of a difference. Good airflow and ducting, a good efficient core - that's the stuff that truly makes a difference.

If you are building an all-out race car and it's going to be hot lapping for hours on end you may see a measurable difference. On a street/fun car nope. It's worth getting things painted/powdercoated just so they look nice but that's it.

Now coating exhaust components is totally worth it. Downpipe especially.

The Efini ‘Y’ pipe that goes with that crossover in the 3rd pic would be a nice addition to the whole kit…if you don’t already have one. Arguably it would do more for performance than heat coating…although I do like the look of wrinkle finish.
